Today, the world, our continent and the Republic of South Africa have lost a tireless advocate for inalienable rights of all people and a giant figure of human rights, whether within the boundaries of the Republic or as a global symbol of resistance and courage. Emerging along with the father of the South African Nation as a fierce fighter for equality, equity and justice, Mrs Winnie Madikizela-Mandela was The Mother of the Nation who fought the apartheid and kept the flame of hope for a flourished tomorrow.

We are deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Mrs Winnie Madikizela-Mandela who was not an ordinary woman, but an exceptional leader and fighter who believed in justice and Democracy as a destiny of the South African people. Mrs Winnie Madikizela-Mandela stood with Nelson Mandela for the exhausting twenty seven years of imprisonment. She endorsed brutal arrestation, confinement, torture, exile, and banishment, but still kept a strengthened conviction in the ultimate goal of Freedom and Democracy.

Accept, in my name and the name of my people and that of the President of the Provisional Kabyle Government in exile (Anavad), Mr. Ferhat Mehenni, our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and the civil society of the Republic of South Africa.

Mrs Winnie Madikizela-Mandela will join her companion in the fight to rest in peace.
The Mother of the Nation will not be forgotten.

Exile : April 3rd, 2018
